As a result, he began to develop some simple practices when the chaos strikes that have led him to greater mental, emotional, and spiritual health. This involved taking an honest and unflinching look not only at the "chaos within" his own life but also the "chaos without"—the hurt that so often occurs in culture, politics, family, the church, and other public spaces.
