This may be one of the more important books parents will encounter this year because it shares very well the skills and attitudes necessary to help today's kids thrive in adulthood. Social skills are essential for getting and keeping a job, after all, and maintaining healthy relationships in and beyond the workplace. Moreover, just following along with these instructions and exercises, I found myself reminded and brushing up on my own essential social skills, like sharing, coping, empathizing, problem solving, and practicing good manners. As the book mentions, today's societal divide can only be bridged if people of goodwill practice these social habits as taught in childhood. Pass it along!
