Hans Christian Andersen was a Danish author. Although he was a writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, Andersen is best remembered for his fairy tales. When he became famous he travelled all over Europe, Africa and Asia. Hans Christian Andersen was a unique figure in Danish literature - Andersen's fairy tales were translated into more than 125 languages. He became famous after publishing his fantastic novel in 1829. In spite of the fact that he was a children-oriented fairy tale writer, he didn't have any children. This story plunges you into the fairy atmosphere.
